Kayoko Y Fujita is the Founder of FILMINATION Co., Ltd. (Japan) EN Pacific Service Co., Ltd. (Japan) and EN Pacific Service LLC (U.S.). With over a decade of experience in film production, international licensing, and cultural promotion, she has built a bridge between Japan and the world—connecting stories, homes, and culinary traditions.
Drawing from a family legacy deeply rooted in cinema, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship, Kayoko’s vision blends creative storytelling with business strategy. Her professional journey spans collaborations with global filmmakers, the development of cross-cultural events, and the launch of innovative B2B platforms for Japanese content distribution.
She co-founded Filmination Co., Ltd. in 2019 with former Microsoft colleagues, growing it into a platform that registered over 200 overseas buyers and 350 licensors, distributing more than 900 Japanese titles internationally. In 2023, she expanded EN Pacific Service into the U.S. market, adding real estate and lifestyle services alongside cultural projects such as the HUKU Project.
藤田佳予子は、株式会社enパシフィックサービス（日本）フィルミネーション株式会社(日本) およびEN Pacific Service LLC（米国）の創業者です。映画制作、国際ライセンス、文化プロモーション分野で10年以上の経験を持ち、日本と世界をつなぐ架け橋として、映像・住・食の分野を横断する事業を展開しています。
家族の歴史には、映画館建設や映像制作、ものづくり、起業家精神が息づいており、その背景を活かし、創造的なストーリーテリングと戦略的な事業展開を融合させています。これまでに国際的な映画制作者との協業、クロスカルチャーイベントの企画、日本コンテンツ流通のための革新的なB2Bプラットフォームの立ち上げなどを行ってきました。2019年には元マイクロソフト同僚と共にフィルミネーション株式会社を共同創業し、200以上の海外バイヤー、350のライセンサー、900作品以上の国際流通を実現。EN Pacific Serviceを米国市場へ拡大し、不動産・生活支援事業に加え、HUKUプロジェクトなど文化事業も展開しています。

Our Journey - Why Kagoshima? なぜ鹿児島に？
Kazuko Yoshimaru, CEO of EN Pacific Service Inc., is the granddaughter of a man from Kagoshima who, in the early Meiji era, was appointed to serve in Kyoto during the establishment of Japan’s police system under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He served as an officer with the Kyoto Prefectural Police and, according to family accounts, was commended by Emperor Meiji for his service.
During the war, my mother—born in Kyoto—was evacuated to Kagoshima as an infant. Later, she worked as a secretary in the office of Diet Member Tokonami inside Japan’s National Diet Building, where she met my father, who was from Tamazato, Kagoshima City. My mother’s spirit of service and determination were deeply influenced by the example of her father and grandfather. In Kyoto, my father worked for Shimazu Corporation while also providing rental housing to those in need.
The war brought the great loss of the family’s Kyoto properties. Nevertheless, my mother and the family started again from nothing, acquiring homes in Kagoshima and Tokyo. My mother actively participated in building homes, including designing an apartment on inherited land. In our twenties, my younger brother and I also began supporting these real estate projects as loan guarantors.
To carry forward this legacy, we established EN Pacific Service Inc. in Kagoshima. The “EN” in our name comes from the Japanese word en (縁), meaning “connection” or “relationship,” reflecting the many bonds that have supported our activities. Today, we own and manage several properties purchased from Kazuko Yoshimaru, providing housing for those in need—including recipients of public assistance and members of the international community. Our mission is to offer “safe, secure housing with sincerity” to all who require it.
株式会社ENパシフィックサービス代表取締役・吉丸和子の祖父は鹿児島出身で、明治時代初期、日本の警察制度が内務省の管轄のもと整備され、各府県に「府県警察」が設置された時代に、任命による赴任で京都へ移り住んだと伝え聞いております。京都府警察官として勤務し、明治天皇から表彰を受けた経歴もあったそうです。
戦時中、京都で生まれたばかりの母は、第二次世界大戦の最中に鹿児島へ疎開しました。後に東京の国会議事堂内・床次代議士事務所で秘書として勤務し、その職場で鹿児島市玉里町出身の父と出会いました。母の奉仕精神や行動力は、祖父や父の生き方から強く影響を受けたものでしょう。京都で、父は島津株式会社に勤めながら、住まいを必要とする方々に家を貸していたと聞いております。
戦争により京都の不動産を失うという大きな喪失を経験しましたが、母と家族は一から再出発し、鹿児島や東京に住宅を取得しました。母は相続した土地に自ら設計したアパートを建てるなど、住まいづくりにも積極的に携わりました。年月を経て、私と弟も20代の頃から融資の連帯保証人として母の不動産事業に関わるようになりました。
こうした歩みを未来につなぐため、私たちは鹿児島に株式会社ENパシフィックサービスを設立いたしました。社名の「EN」は、ご縁の「縁」に由来します。これまで多くの方々とのご縁に支えられて活動してまいりました。現在は吉丸和子が所有する物件の一部を買い取り、不動産を所有・管理し、生活保護を受けている方々や外国籍の方々をはじめ、住まいを必要とする皆さまにお貸ししています。私たちの使命は、必要とされる方々に「安全で安心できる住まいを、誠実さをもって提供する」ことです。
Why Seattle?
Kayoko Yoshimaru Fujita, co-owner of EN Pacific Service Co., Ltd. (Japan) and founder of EN Pacific Service LLC (U.S.) and Filmination, Inc. (Japan), was born in Suginami, Tokyo, and spent most of her school years in Kagoshima. Selected at 17 for Kagoshima City’s Seishonen no Tsubasa youth exchange, she studied in Perth, Australia, and later in Seattle, where she earned an associate degree while taking university credits. Her career began at Fujitsu Communication Services in Japan, followed by international software operations work with Microsoft Asia Limited.
She returned to Seattle for roles with Microsoft and Corbis, deepening her ties to the Pacific Northwest. Her children, both born there, became bilingual after attending Tokyo’s national university-affiliated schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2016, she founded EN Pacific Service LLC to bring Japanese cinema to U.S.-born children and promote exceptional Japanese products abroad. She has since organized screenings, supported SIFF selections, and assisted in the distribution of notable titles—sharing Japan’s stories and craftsmanship with the world.
藤田佳予子は、日本の株式会社ENパシフィックサービス共同経営者であり、米国EN Pacific Service LLCおよび日本のフィルミネーション株式会社の創業者です。東京都杉並区に生まれ、学生時代の大半を鹿児島で過ごしました。17歳で鹿児島市の青少年交換事業「青少年の翼」に選ばれ、オーストラリアのパースへ派遣されました。その後、シアトルに留学し、准学士号を取得後、大学単位を履修しながら、日本では富士通コミュニケーションサービスに勤務し、Microsoft Asia Limitedで国際的なソフトウェア運用業務に携わりました。
その後、マイクロソフトやコービスでの仕事を通じて再びシアトルに戻り、米国との結びつきを深めました。米国生まれの2人の子どもは、コロナ禍でシアトル近郊の学校が閉鎖された際、東京の国立大学附属校に通い、バイリンガルとして成長しました。2016年には米国でEN Pacific Service LLCを設立し、米国生まれの子どもたちへの日本映画上映や優れた日本製品の海外発信に取り組んでいます。これまでに映画上映会の企画、シアトル国際映画祭（SIFF）のコンペ作品支援、著名作品の配給サポートを行い、日本の物語と職人技を世界に紹介しています。
